The currency of New Zealand is the New Zealand Dollar, with one Dollar equalling 100 cents. Notes come in denominations of NZ$100, 50, 20, 10 and 5, and coins are in denominations of NZ$2 and 1, as well as 50, 20, 10, and 5 cents.
Money can be easily exchanged throughout New Zealand. Traveller's cheques are accepted, and to avoid additional conversion charges should be in US Dollars, Pounds Sterling or Australian Dollars.
ATMs are available, and international credit and debit cards are accepted.

The import and export of domestic and foreign currency is unlimited, though amounts equal to NZ$10,000 and above have to be declared.
Business
General banking hours in most areas are from 0900 to 1630, Mondays to Fridays. Shopping hours are from 0900 to 1700 Mondays to Saturdays, with some local variations.
General European-style politeness is the normal way of conducting business, and other normal customs should be observed in formal situations - a smart appearance, punctuality and the like.
Service charges are generally not added to bills, and tipping is not normally expected
